It’s been over a year since I’ve written a blog post. I felt like blogging was dead and there was no point any more. Then I started a trip down memory lane looking back at all our old family trip blog post and I realised how much I miss sharing my life in my own space, and having those memories to always look back on.
My lack of blogging, coincides with the time I’ve been spending launching and growing The Gossip Nail Bar, it’s taken a lot of my time and I needed to focus on almost exclusively on my business because it’s been so busy.
Over the year, I’ve been able to keep consistent on Instagram whilst I’ve not been blogging and recently just got back on YouTube but both those spaces feel like supply and demand. You want to see outfits on my plus size figure, and that’s fine by me. My channels have seen a lot of growth by giving you what you want. However I feel like those channels have lost my personal passion that I so enjoyed when I first started my blog – plus I have a bunch of photos that don’t have a place any more.
So I’ve decided to bring back my blog under the new personal guise of Emily Gossip which now feels more me than ever, as a place to share my life, my family, my achievements and struggles. Think of it as my own personal open diary, ad we’ll see how it goes. I’m not putting any pressure on myself to keep up with any schedule but I’ll just try and post when I’ve got something to share or memories to keep safe!
As you may know, Brad and I recently travelled to Santorini for our Honeymoon. I didn’t want to write a super long post about what we did each day as I’ll be editing the vlog soon which you can watch each day as it happened very soon. I wanted to share all my photos, seriously I took about 200 photos a day so this is only a small selection! I also wanted to share my top 15 places to see and do in Santorini if you’re heading out there.
First off I’m going to start with my warning, be prepared to walk, a lot, and climb a lot of steps! It’s one hell of a mountain! You might want to work out those glutes before you go too, you’ll need them, I’ve come back with buns of steel from all the walking we did! Comfy shoes are a must!
There’s a lot of Santorini guides on the internet but I still wanted to share a few of my personal favs from the ten days we spent there in October, in no particular order.

Ok, so this isn’t my usual kind of post, but when Canesten got in touch to see I’d ask my readers “how well do you know your vagina?”, I genuinely felt it was a great cause and something I want to open up about.
Canesten believe that if women know more about their intimate health – which can be an embarrassing or uncomfortable topic to talk about – they will be better equipped to make the right health decisions. If women are more willing to speak openly, this can help them to be more confident and comfortable in their own bodies and happier overall.
I’d like to think you know me well enough by now to know, nothing is off topic here, I basically have no filter. I’m happy to talk about most things! Why is there such taboo about discussing our intimate areas? There’s a lot going on down there and we should be able to talk about it with friends IRL and online. I certainly don’t know enough about what certain symptoms mean, and what to do about it. I only scored 3/6 on the Myth Busting quiz, why don’t you enter here – a Rafflecopter giveaway
This is the reason why Canesten is committed to helping women. By offering them healthcare products and knowledge, Canesten aims to keep women in control of their intimate health. Often there are large knowledge gaps about intimate health – most likely due to the persistent stigma surrounding such topics. They want women to understand their intimate health and specifically highlight the differences between Thrush and BV, as bacterial vaginosis often referred to, as a misunderstanding of the treatment needed can have a detrimental effect.
Why not expand your knowledge by taking their short Myth Bustering quiz! To be in with a chance to win £50 amazon voucher, take the quiz with this Rafflecopter giveaway
comment below with your score and I’d love it if you also shared this on your socials to spread the word to all your squad. Let’s talk vag!
BV is the most common cause of vaginal infections in women of childbearing age, yet women are still confused between this and thrush. Over 75% of women will suffer from thrush at least once in their life, whilst sufferers of BV may not have even heard of the condition itself. Bacterial vaginosis, or as it more commonly known, BV is caused by the presence of certain bacteria which leads to a pH imbalance in your vagina. Your vagina is normally acidic, which helps prevent bad bacteria from growing and maintains the level of good bacteria called lactobacillus. If this pH balance becomes less acidic, it can affect the environment of your vagina, which in turn can lead to the development of BV. Most people experience symptoms such as: unpleasant odour, watery discharge, greyish white looking discharge. Different factors can affect the pH balance of your vagina, including over-washing with perfumed soaps and shower gels in the intimate area, using antibiotics and having sexual intercourse.

You may have seen my pastel miami vibes studio goals tour video yesterday, but in light of my new enthusiasm for focusing more on my blog, I wanted to share all the photos and further info that go along with the video.
It is has been my goal to have my own studio for as long as I can remember, and even more so since I’ve been self employed. I’ve worked from home for seven years and whilst I love having the freedom to still work from the sofa if I want (cough, Monday mornings when it’s raining!!) having a new studio space has just allowed me to evolve so much as a creative.
Everything work related had started to take over our house, I had filming equipment in our bedroom, office space in the dining room and no matter how hard I tried our house just wasn’t big enough to style a creative space. I felt cooped up and needed to spread my wings to allow my creativity to flourish. I’d had a bit of a browse on what other creative studio space was available in Bristol but everything seem to be out of budget or shared desk space.
I found my studio via Meanwhile Creative, my friend has a unit in the same building, using hers as storage whilst they travel the festivals in their van throughout the summer. When I found this space, I was so excited. It seemed so perfect for me and in the excitement I had conjured up ideas of how I wanted to style the space before I’d even signed on the dotted line. I pestered Meanwhile Creative and couldn’t wait to move in. You can watch the vlogs if you want to see what it was like when I first moved in.
It’s taken a few months to finally get it properly sorted. I discovered when I moved in that filming was more difficult than I’d imagined on account of other people working quite frequently. I threw my toys out the pram and decided it wouldn’t work and that I’d made a bad decision and had failed and really couldn’t see past my strop. However, I’ve persevered and have managed to have some really productive days in the studio now. It’s not perfect but I’ve been working with the rest of the units to figure out the best and quietest days to try and film.
I need a creative and colourful space to feel at my most productive, and styling rooms up is a real passion of mine. The studio has very much been done on a budget with little money spent on storage. With just a lick of paint here and there and some carefully curated decor items I’ve created my perfect pastel miami vibes studio. This is where all the magic happens! Don’t forget to watch the tour video if you want to see more.
